Senior QA Analyst

Polyarc is searching for an experienced Senior QA Analyst to play a pivotal role in shaping the quality of our games. As the second member of our QA team, you’ll help define and refine QA processes while overseeing quality assurance on an exciting new mixed reality project.

This role offers opportunities to contribute to and shepherd QA initiatives as the team grows to maintain the highest standards of quality in our games. You’ll collaborate closely with other disciplines on a small, tight-knit team where transparency, trust, and shared ownership drive every decision and milestone.

If you’re eager to be part of a studio that values collaboration, mentorship, accountability, creative expression, and a player-first mindset, Polyarc might be the perfect place for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with design, engineering, art, and production teams to define and implement QA best practices, including test coverage strategies, bug triaging workflows, and regression testing processes.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, passes, and cases. Perform day-to-day testing to ensure the game meets quality benchmarks.
  • Oversee build stability, coordinate internal playtests, and manage build distribution to streamline development and maintain project momentum.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external QA teams, setting testing priorities, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring alignment with project milestones.
  • Document and scale QA workflows, such as test case creation and debugging processes, to support future team growth.
  • Advocate for a fidelity-focused culture within the team, ensuring that player experiences remain at the heart of every deliverable.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to prioritize work effectively (even in ambiguous situations) and lead QA teams through the entire video game production cycle, from concept to release.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, external vendors, and publishers to align goals and ensure seamless workflows across stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, consensus-building, and training skills, with the ability to manage external teams and help internal stakeholders align on shared objectives.
  • Strong test planning and execution skills—creating test passes and cases as well as identifying and reporting issues across various disciplines such as audio, animation, and art.
  • Familiarity with tools used in game development, including game engines, plugins, platform testing tools, bug tracking systems, and documentation platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with a commitment to delivering dependable, player-ready experiences by focusing on both technical precision and player-centric feedback.
  • Comfortable with extended play sessions in XR environments, understanding the nuances of testing immersive interactions to understand player experience.

Pluses:

  • Experience in QA leadership or readiness to grow into such a role.
  • Familiarity with the certification process for titles across multiple gaming platforms.
  • Background coordinating internal and external playtests with actionable reporting.
  • Vision for innovative QA methodologies to enhance Polyarc’s contributions to the XR space.
